Q. What doesactuation and de-actuation mean?
A. Actuation means that theflow rate has reached a point where the microswitch trips or thecontacts of the microswitch change state. De-actuation means thatthe flow rate has decreased to a point where the microswitchreturns to its normal state.
Q. Why is the minimum specific gravity important on the L4and L6?
A. If a medium has a lowers.g. than the rated minimum for a float, the float will sinkthrough the media and the switch will not operate.
Q. What else needs to be specified when ordering anL4-TOP?
A. The vertical and horizontallengths of the float arm.
Q. Can the V8 float switch be used with acids due to itsmaterial of construction?
A. No. The V8 contains a 316SSpin and spring as well as a ceramic 8 magnet that are notcompatible.
Q. Can the V10 flow switch be mounted for use in a verticalup-flow application?
A. Yes. The standard V10 has aspring return on the vane which allows for mounting in anyposition.
Q. How is the F7 level switch converted from N.O. to N.C. orvice versa?
A. The float is removed andreplaced upside down.
Q. How does the F7-MHS Level Switch attach to mytank?
A. Drill a 1/2" hole in theside of your tank. With the F7-MHS body inside the tank, insert thescrew and exposed wires through this hole and secure the unit inplace with the corresponding nut.
